Amal earned her BS in Neuroscience from the UC, San Diego, a master’s in education and a secondary science credential from Mills College, and post-baccalaureate in health professions and a CTE credential in health science and medical technology at UC Berkeley.

Throughout the Bay Area, Amal has taught middle and high school science and academy courses. She is also adjunct faculty with Merritt College teaching Medical Assisting and taught Biology at Cal State East Bay.

Fellowships

Amal has completed fellowships in instructional practices and creating equitable opportunities in urban education at Yale University’s National Institute and Stanford University’s Hollyhock Fellowship.

Interests

Trained in design thinking, life coaching, and critical race theory and currently serves on the board of directors of the California Association of Science Educators.
